🌪 What is the wind resistance of my Belveo parasol?Updated a year ago
In practical tests, our parasols have withstood winds of up to 55mph without breaking, even when positioned horizontally. You can watch this video filmed during the February 2018 storm in Dunkirk, or this video in which a BELVEO® cantilever parasol faces a helicopter! 🚁
However, we advise a cautious approach.
Indeed, the wind is never linear, and will therefore have different impacts on the parasol depending on its nature. A continuous "downward" wind of 25 mph can cause more damage than an "upward" gust of wind of 50 mph for example.
As a general guideline, we recommend not using BELVEO® parasols when local weather forecasts predict winds exceeding 40mph. Relying on common sense and safety first ensures the longevity of your parasol and the well-being of those around it.
