Why the difference in price of parasols?Updated 2 days ago

The difference lies in the fabric.

We offer three levels of fabric quality for our parasols:

Our parasols with polyester fabric:
Polyester fabric is ideal for a first-time investment. Lightweight and affordable, it allows you to enjoy our patented innovation at a competitive price. Perfect for occasional use, it stands out with its shiny, luminous finish. While it may fade more quickly under direct sunlight, it’s still a great introduction to the Belveo world—an elegant, easy-to-handle parasol that adapts well to the wind. Plus, thanks to our interchangeable canopies, you can upgrade to a more premium fabric, like olefin or acrylic, whenever your needs evolve.

Our parasols with olefin fabric:
By far the best value for money in our range—and unsurprisingly, our best-selling parasols.

Olefin fabric offers the perfect balance of aesthetics, durability, and price. The color is embedded in the fiber itself, meaning it maintains its vibrancy for years and is more resistant to fading (guaranteed for 5 years).

We often use this metaphor to illustrate the difference between polyester and olefin: think of polyester like a radish—colored on the outside, but white on the inside when cut. Olefin, on the other hand, is like a carrot—the color runs throughout the fiber because it’s solution-dyed.

Its matte finish and incredibly soft touch evoke the elegance of indoor fabrics while delivering the resilience needed outdoors. Water-repellent, it quickly sheds moisture, dries in a flash after a rain shower, and resists splashes—perfect for poolside days. It’s also easy to maintain: simply clean with soapy water or machine wash up to 30°C. In both cases, there’s no risk of damaging the fabric or its color.

We’ve carefully selected one of the best manufacturers for our olefin fabric, located near Barcelona, Spain—an area known for its exceptional weaving expertise.

Both stylish and durable, parasols with olefin fabric are an excellent long-term choice—you’ll keep them for years.

Our parasols with acrylic fabric:
This is the crème de la crème—the premium reference thanks to its outstanding performance under the most demanding conditions.

Its quality is noticeable at first glance. Because it’s solution-dyed, the color pigments are infused directly into the liquid acrylic before the fiber is even formed, creating a deeply pigmented, color-through thread. The result: vibrant colors that resist UV rays, stains, and harsh weather—far beyond standard surface-dyed fabrics. We’re so confident in this fabric’s quality that it comes with a 10-year warranty against fading.

Once reserved for professional use only, we’ve made acrylic fabric available to even the most demanding private customers.

We hope this detailed explanation helps you feel more confident in making your choice.
